Aurica Capital has divested its stake in Samy Alliance as part of a transaction in which Bridgepoint acquired a majority stake of 80%-90% in the Spanish company specializing in digital marketing and communication.
Aurica, previously the main shareholder with 48% of the capital, has completed its divestment in a deal that values Samy Alliance at approximately €300 million, including debt. The sale has allowed Aurica to nearly quintuple its initial investment in the company made in 2020.
Alongside Aurica, other investors such as Inveready, Sabadell VC, and Jaguar Path have also exited the company. Meanwhile, Samy Alliance’s founders —Juan Sánchez-Herrera, Patricia Ratia García-Oliveros, and Marta Nicolás— as well as part of the management team, are reinvesting partially and will remain shareholders alongside Bridgepoint.
The British private equity firm entered Samy Alliance in the summer of 2023 through a capital increase, acquiring a minority stake of around 12%-15%. With this new transaction, Bridgepoint takes control of the group.
The resources contributed by Bridgepoint since joining the shareholder base have supported Samy Alliance’s inorganic growth, including recent acquisitions of agencies in Finland (Kurio), Colombia (MDS), and the United States (Content Lab).
Founded in 2012, Samy Alliance closed the last fiscal year with more than €100 million in revenue and an EBITDA of around €20 million. The company offers technology-based marketing and communication services, with clients including Microsoft, Bimbo, Samsung, Kia, and L’Oréal. It operates in 50 markets and has offices in 15 of them, employing over 600 people.
The sale of Samy Alliance adds to other recent divestments by the Aurica III fund, which raised €160 million in 2017 and has more than tripled its original capital through this and other divestments, such as the sale of Babel to Mubadala.
