Aurica XXI, will take 5% of Laboratoires D’Uriage Dermatologiques in the transaction whereby Corporación Exea Empresarial, Puig´s Familyholding for investments will take control of the French company.
According to confirmed sources, more than half of the 140 million euros will come from the equity of Exea Corporation, and the rest will be financed by Aurica XXI by buying 5% of the company and a loan.
Dermatologiques Laboratoires D’Uriage, located in a thermal station near Grenoble, owns the firm of dermatological products as well as an Hotel. The group, which has a leading position in the French market and has an international presence, turnover of 63.5 million, with 4.5 million net profit in 2010.
Puig owners have competed for the control of D’Uriage with the French cosmetics firm Clarins, and the multinational pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline.
In Exea Corporation all four branches of the Puig family are represented, the third generation is already in front of various businesses. The flagship vessel of the corporation is the company Puig perfume and fashion. It owns the ensings Nina Ricci, Carolina Herrera, Paco Rabanne and Jean Paul Gaultier, as well as management of licenses as Prada and Valentino. In 2010 a turnover of 1,202 million euros, with an operating profit of 184 million. In addition, under Exea it is also 50% of the manufacturer of dermatological products Isdin (the remaining 50% is owned by Laboratorios Esteve), which had a turnover of 116.5 million euros and the company of lighters, stationery and electronic, Flamagas, which earned 49.7 million in 2009, latest available.
